EOS Data Systems GmbH has been operating since 1990, primarily as a solution provider, especially in the areas of sports and government.

Manfred Kirisits and Wolfgang Dittrich first met 36 years ago at Nixdorf. Manfred had experience with the implementation of large database management systems and rule-based expert systems, while Wolfgang was in charge of marketing UNIX systems. A joint project at the international trade-show IFABO 1989 in Vienna, and “one” beer afterwards, offered the opportunity to share their ideas on a new way of office computing on a departmental level, and shortly thereafter they founded EOS .

EOS, the Greek goddess of the dawn, was chosen to symbolize the spirit of a new beginning and the emergence of new system architectures that they saw dawning in the IT world. The proprietary departmental computers of these days - already dinosaur-like beasts at the time, with 'dumb' terminals attached – should be replaced by intelligent, customizable solutions running on UNIX servers with smart Windows clients, offering a multiple of the performance and user comfort at a fraction of the costs.

From the very beginning, the founders of EOS Data Systems GmbH were convinced that well-trained and dedicated software engineers were their most valuable asset in achieving and ensuring their goal: the satisfaction of customers through tailor-made and intelligent solutions that could be developed efficiently on the basis of prebuilt modules.
